Scottsdale Children's Choirs

Children entering grades 1-8. Singers auditioning for the Scottsdale Children's Choirs do not need to prepare anything for the audition. The singer will be asked to sing a familiar song and various exercises to test range and tonal memory as well. Our directors are trained to help the children feel at ease as well as help the children feel that the audition was a positive, successful experience.

Auditions are held regularly by appointment as well as specified dates at the beginning of the fall and spring semesters. All auditions are held at La Casa de Cristo Lutheran Church. 6300 E. Bell Rd., Scottsdale.

Auditions - how to prepare your singer

Testimonials

"That was easy!  She was excited to sing for Mr. and Mrs. Robison.  They made her feel comfortable and at ease.  She came out of    the audition feeling better about her singing." - Heidi, mother of 2nd grade SCC member.

"He loves to sing.  None of us (our family) sing, but we are glad that we have found a place for him in the Scottsdale Children's Choir.  He is so excited to come to rehearsals every week." - Shelly, mother of 6th grade SCC member.

There is a place for every singer at the Scottsdale Children's Choir.  Auditions are an important way for the directors to assess where best to place your future Scottsdale Children's Choir singer.  We understand that some children might be a little nervous and the directors are trained to make the children feel at ease and positive about the experience.  Your singer does not need to prepare anything for the audition (although he/she may bring a solo piece if desired.)  We will teach your child all the necessary vocal exercises for the audition and have him/her sing a familiar song such as "America the Beautiful" or "Happy Birthday."  Parents are welcome to sit in on the child's audition, however, most children feel more relaxed with just the directors.
